Provide patient-centered pain and symptom management across the care continuum with specialized pharmacists as an essential part of the care team.  

Mission 

The Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists (SPPCP) promotes exceptional inter-professional, patient-centered care and serves as a voice for excellence by advancing pharmacists practicing in pain, palliative care, and hospice through education, advocacy, development, and research.  

Values 

  • Patient Care:Strive for excellence in patient care by optimizing pharmacotherapeutic outcomes, promoting best practices in pain, palliative care, and hospice and supporting quality of life as a basic right for all patients. 
  • Advocacy: Advocate for our specialty, profession, and our patients through legislation, public policy, and benevolence for pain, palliative care and hospice pharmacists and patients. 
  • Research:Foster research and dissemination of information related to science-based, patient-centered care and the pharmacist as an essential part of the transdisciplinary team.
