SPPCP Fellowship Recognition
The Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists (SPPCP) Fellowship designation (FPPCP) recognizes exemplary members who have made significant and sustained contributions to the advancement of pain management, palliative care, hospice, and substance use disorder pharmacy practice. This honorary distinction reflects a high level of professional achievement, leadership, and dedication to the mission and vision of SPPCP.
Becoming an SPPCP Fellow requires more than longevity in the field, it reflects years of service, scholarship, advocacy, and leadership. Fellows have demonstrated a commitment to advancing clinical practice, education, and professional development, and have supported SPPCP as an engaged and impactful member.

What does it take to become an SPPCP Fellow?
Professional Experience
A minimum of 10 years of professional activity (full- or part-time) in pain management, palliative care, hospice, or other related pharmacy roles. Clinical, educational, research, or administrative contributions all qualify.
SPPCP Membership At least 7 years of SPPCP membership with no more than a 3-month lapse in renewal.
Service to the Society Demonstrated involvement in SPPCP through activities such as committee or task force participation, Board of Trustees service, presentations at SPPCP events, education initiatives, mentorship, contributions to JPPCP, podcast or newsletter involvement, or CV reviews.
Service to the Profession Broader contributions such as publishing, research, precepting learners, public or professional advocacy, or delivering education to learners or other healthcare professionals.
Nomination Applicants self-nominate and must provide two letters of recommendation, one from a current SPPCP Fellow, and one from either a supervisor, colleague, or another SPPCP member.
